Bill’s journey to becoming a part of the staff here at Trinity began his junior year in High School. The Lord was working on him through the friends that he ate lunch with. This was significant because his friends had other friends, and all of them were a part of the youth group at Knightsville UMC. Eventually throughout the year he got to know everyone better. This led to his best friend asking him if he wanted to come to church with him. He said he would like to, and went. Bill loved it because the youth group were such good friends which made him want to be a part of that family. Before the summer began, he was invited to go to Lookup Lodge with the youth group. Knightsville’s week to go was during the middle of the summer and this was where his life was truly changed. During that week, he experienced Christ for the first time. The Holy Spirit really challenged him to answer some questions that the Lord was asking: Is Jesus Christ real? And was His sacrifice of dying on the cross really enough to bridge the gulf between himself and God? He knew the answer was yes to these questions. The Lord then asked Bill, what should your reaction be to these questions if your answer was yes? Bill pondered over the questions and studied for a year. He knew the answer was complete devotion to Christ. However, the next summer the Lord took it a step further and revealed to Bill that His calling for his life was to work with youth. For the past eight years He has been teaching Bill and training him for his time here at Trinity. Bill is sure that his time here at Trinity is a time for the Lord to train and prepare him for the future. His journey up to this point has taken him to graduate with a Youth Ministry degree from Montreat College. Another part of the training was working at Lookup Lodge for three summers. Additionally, over the past year, he had volunteered in leading the youth ministry at Knightsville UMC. Finally, Bill is here at Trinity. He knows that the Lord has really blessed him by allowing him to finally, fully do His calling for his life in youth ministry. Bill is ready to share his life with others, to share Christ more fully with those that know Him and bring Christ into the lives of those that do not. |
