FAITH FOREST SUNDAY SCHOOL

2008-2009 marks Trinity's 6th year using the Workshop Rotation Model for Sunday School. Trinity Children in grades kindergarten through 5th grade attend Sunday School in their very own Faith Forest.  Here they learn the Bible stories through different methods of teaching and learning.  (To learn more about rotation Sunday School, check out What is Faith Forest? or www.rotation.org)

BUG BYTES

Our computer workshop is called Bug Bytes.  We currently have 10 computers on our own network.  In this workshop the children create projects such as books, advent calendars, etc. or play educational computer games to learn the bible story they are currently studying.

TENT TALES

In Tent Tales, the children may participate in a dramatic story-telling activity, helping to bring the story or topic to life.  Sometimes they may enjoy popcorn while watching a movie that explains the Bible Story for the rotation in a unique way.  Following the movie, the class engages in a thoughtful discussion with the teacher. The emphasis is on using story-telling as a way of teaching about God.

MYSTERY MOUNTAIN

Mystery Mountain was new in 2006-2007.  As the name suggests, children will find something new each time they visit Mystery Mountain.  They may use a fun cooking project or a science experiment to get hands-on with the rotation's topic.

CABIN CREATIONS

Art is the focus of Cabin Creations.  In this workshop our students learn Bible stories by creating.  They use a variety of mediums to engage in a very creative learning process.  Past lessons include: creating a frescoe, painting the "ceiling" while laying on their backs to fully appreciate the labor of Michangleo's Sistine Ceiling, and painting umbrellas with pairs of animals to remember the story of Noah and his ark.  The students have also worked with scratchboard and clay.

TREE HOUSE TRIVIA

The focal piece in our games/Bible skills workshop, Tree House Trivia, is an actual tree house set to appear as if it is nestled high in a tree among the clouds.  In this workshop students play a variety of games to help make the Bible story come alive.  They also play games to help them learn the memory verse which inspires the story and lessons for each rotation.  This room is also equipped with its very own "Wheel of Fortune".  The children learn through active play in our Tree House Trivia Workshop.
