Director of Christian Education - Johannah Myers

Johannah G. Myers was born and raised in Summerville, South Carolina.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Furman University where she worked with youth and adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. She finished Duke Divinity School in 2004 with a Master of Divinity.

Johannah loves her work at Trinity. She has a heart for education in the Church - helping children and adults to grow in their love of God and love of neighbor.

Johannah worked as the youth director at a church in Greenville, SC and as a pastoral intern for a small church in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. While at Duke, she also spent a summer working for Mrs. June Wilson in the Conference Office of Age Level Ministries. She traveled all over the world with June, helping to plan and execute conference youth activities such as Youth Annual Conference, Leadership Weekend, and the Conference Youth Choir’s trip to England and Wales.

She considers Duke basketball to be her number one passion – behind her work in the church, of course. (Although during March Madness, Duke basketball might have a tendency to creep up on her priority list!) Her first Duke basketball game was actually the 1986 Final Four in Dallas, TX and she’s been hooked ever since. She is an avid football fan, as well, especially of her Furman Paladins. She has a crazy black lab named Millie, who is a constant source of embarrassment and joy

Traveling is a more recent passion but Johannah has been working her way across Europe slowly but surely for the past seven years. The pictures below are from  her Fall '07 trip to Scotland (with a piper and from Iona). She'll head back to Israel in 2008.
