Boyle
Bible Class
on WDXY
The Boyle Bible class is broadcast on WDXY beginning
at 10:00 a.m. Composed of mostly “mature” men, this class is taught by rotating
teachers, using the Adult Bible Studies of the International
Lesson Series. This is a friendly group who founded their class upon Bible Study
and Fellowship.
Constance Herbert Bible Class
Intergenerational
The Constance Herbert Bible Class is a class of women
who study by lecture format with rotating teachers. They use the Adult Bible
Studies of the International Lesson Series. Originally formed for all ladies
who were “employed outside the home,” they are intentionally intergenerational.
Women of any age are welcomed, and 40 up would probably feel most comfortable.
Caring, faithful in attendance in class and in worship, and active are among the
words that describe these ladies!
FaHoLo Class
Faith, Hope & Love
The FaHoLo Class is best described by the words that
make up its name: Faith, Hope, and Love. This class was founded on fellowship,
member care, and mission. They are served by teachers who rotate, so the
emphases and teaching method vary according to the teacher. They use the
Adult Bible Studies of the International Lesson Series, and are involved in
local missions.
Friendship Class
Young to mid-aged adults
The Friendship Class is filled with
mostly young to mid-aged adults, most of whom are rearing children and/or youth.
They use short-term studies as well as the International Lesson Series. They
rotate teachers, two of whom are “home grown” from their own class. Members take
turns bringing doughnuts to enjoy a fellowship time before the lesson. They have
been active in mission projects such as Habitat for Humanity and the United
Methodist Church’s Elderly Transportable Housing project.
Maranatha Class
The International Lesson Series
The Maranatha Class uses The International Lesson
Series to center discussions on Scripture and its relationship to our daily
lives. Members are married, single, and couples. This growing class had a vision
and wish for a unifying mission which resulted in leading the church to adopt
the Elderly Transportable Housing program of the SC Conference and UM Relief
Center.
Trinity Fellowship Class
Bible Study and Fellowship
The Trinity Fellowship Class was formed on the
principles of Bible Study and Fellowship, and welcomes all ages. This class is
mostly lecture, using the Adult Bible Studies of the International
Lesson Series. This is a large class with 63 active members who are always
learning and open to new ideas. They also focus upon caring for the sick and the
bereaved.
Berean Class
A deeper understanding of God’s word
The Berean Class, in the spirit of the members of the
early church who first bore the name, welcomes everyone who seeks a deeper
understanding of God’s word and works in order to apply the lessons to our lives
everyday. The class members span a wide range of ages and backgrounds, although
most are age thirty-five and up. The lessons are presented by teachers and
members on a rotating basis and often are drawn from studies of best selling
books by contemporary Christian authors or fresh analyses of books of the Bible.
The Berean class wholeheartedly supports projects in mission and seeks
opportunities to serve through the life of the church. The class atmosphere is
casual and accepting of all with fellowship before and after class time.
Visitors and new members are most welcome.
- Young Adult Class
- The Young Adult Class is made up of
singles and couples in their 20's and 30's. Class members utilize
contemporary works by Christian authors in their discussions, and
members take turns each week facilitating the conversation.
Recent selections include Blue Like Jazz and The Case for
Faith. The class also enjoys getting together for socials
about once a month.
